Ionia County News, 14 Jan 1937

W. Sherman Chase, 72, died at his home south of Ionia Sunday, January 10.

Mr. Chase was born in Alpine, May 3, 1865.  He was married November 7, 1886, to
Eva Richardson at Newaygo.  Mrs. Chase died ten years ago.  He had been a
resident of Ionia County for 30 years and was employed by the Stafford
Manufacturing company as painter and refinisher for a number of years.

Surviving relatives are two sons, Myron and Harry, of Ionia; seven grandchildren
and one sister, Mrs. Flora Earl of Los Angeles, Cal.

Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday, January 13, at 2:00
o’clock.  Rev. Paul L. Stewart officiating.  Burial was in Highland Park cemetery.
