E. church, this afternoon, was largely attended. About seventy members of Wm. H. Borden post, under command of Commander R. M. Kellogg escorted the remains from the residence to the church and from the church to Highland Park cemetery, where interment took place. An appropriate sermon was preached by Rev. D. F. Barnes. D. D., and excellent music was furnished by the M. E. choir. Mr. Chase was born in Watertown, N.Y., in 1825, and moved to Wisconsin, where he enlisted in the 29th Wisconsin infantry, and served with Banks in the department of the Gulf, being mustered out at Mobile at close of war.
