SARANAC- Herman W. Chase, 84, of 546 Bluewater Highway, Saranac, died Sunday at 
Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born in South Boston on Sept. 22, 
1894, the son of Austin and Bertha Warner Chase.

He has farmed and lived in the Saranac area all his life. He is a member of the 
Farm Bureau and Saranac Odd Fellows.

He married his wife Stella Arnold on Oct. 7, 1916 in Ionia.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert Chase of Saranac; two 
daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Phyllis) Kurz of Ohio, Mrs. Norman (Mary) Gatzemeyer 
of Mason; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 P.M. at the Lake Funeral Home in 
Saranac, with Rev. James Frank of the Galilee Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 
p.m. today and tomorrow.
