Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 16 Dec 1953

James Orin Chase, 66, of Muir, died early Wednesday morning after a lengthy
illness.  He was born July 30, 1887 in Ionia township, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
George Chase.  His early life was spent on the farm before moving to Muir with
his parents.  Mr. Chase was a member of the Muir Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Arthur Case of Ionia, Mrs. F.E. Hubbard of
Detroit.  Another sister, Mrs. George Hiebeck of Birmingham died in 1952.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Stone-Kauffman
funeral home.  The Rev. Court O. Adams will officiate.  Burial will be in the
family lot at North Plains cemetery.
