Genevieve Chase "Grandma Jean", 82 of Saranac passed away June 27, 212 in Grand 
Rapids. She was born April 6, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of George and 
Dorothy (Johnson) Anderson.

Genevieve married Joseph Theodore Larabel, June 30, 1950. He preceded her in 
death in 1954. She married Robert Chase, Oct. 7, 1955. He preceded her in death 
in 1995.

Genevieve drove bus for Saranac Public Schools for over 30 years. She was voted 
Senior Citizen of the year in 2005. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, 
Saranac Womens Club, Election Board, Boston Historical Society and was a Ionia 
County Victims Advocate. She was always volunteering and helping everyone.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Dave (Ilene) Chase of Saranac, Jackie 
(Tom) Bowen of Saranac, Linda Sprague of Saranac, Carl Chase and Carlene of 
Saranac, Donna (Todd) Haller of Lowell and Russ (Jayne) Chase of Lowell; 
grandchildren, Brent (Cindy) Bowen of Grand Rapids, Brandon (Sara) Bowen of 
Ohio, Brenda Myers of Grand Rapids, Angie (Beau) Stephens of Saranac, Lisa 
(Travis) Lehman of Lowell, Tyler (Caresse) Sprague of California, Chad Haller 
of Lowell, Hayleigh Sprague and J.P. of Florida, Derik (Danielle) Haller of 
Lowell, Myles Sprague and Allison of Detroit and Kara Haller and Andrew of 
Ionia and Grace Chase of Lowell; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Garrett, Jack, 
Sam, Charlie, Mason, Hayden, Alyssa, Chase, Brody, Bryce, Logan and Austin; 
sisters, Barbara (Pete) Arnold of Allendale and Dorothy Stebbins of Mecosta; 
sister-in-law, Vivian Anderson of Allendale; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter; brother, Charles Anderson; 
sister, Ruth Abbott; and son-in-law, Tim Sprague.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30 at Easton United 
Methodist Church with Mr. Bruce Chadwick and Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. 
Interment Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at 
Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.

Memorial contribution is Genevieve's name may be made to Ionia County Victims 
Advocate or Saranac Community Club.
