Broas Street,Sunday Evening following a period of ill health caused by cancer. Mr. Chase was for many years employed by the Belding Gas Works and was a citizen of the finest type and a man whose friends were counted only by the number of people whom he met.He retired from active work some years ago. Surviving are the widow, Susan; two daughters, Mrs.Floyd P.Smith and Mrs.J.M.Jackson, both of Grosse Pointe and a son, Chauncey of Lansing. There are also five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev.Walter Schemmer, pastor of the Church of God, officiating and burial was in River Ridge Cemetery.
