                            Former Ionian Dies at Jackson

A telegram to Mrs. Tarvey Towne Thursday  morning from Jackson conveyed the 
message of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Abbie Chase, a former resident of Ionia, 
who lived the greater part of her life in the eastern part of this city, but 
went to Jackson about five years ago to live with her sister, Mrs. Jennie 
Franklin. 

She was a member of Queen Ester chapter, O. E. S., and while in Ionia held 
membership in the Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Chase was born in Ionia 59 years ago, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
George Watrous. Her death Thursday  morning came as the result of a stroke.

She will be brought to Ionia for burial Sunday, and the burial services will be 
held at the family lot in Highland Park cemetery at 2 o'clock fast time, and 
will be conducted by Mrs. Claude Faude, Christian Science reader.
