Funeral services for Mrs. Herbert Chase were held at her late home in South
Boston Saturday afternoon, May 12, Rev. Mr. Williams, of Clarksville officiating
clergyman; burial in South Boston cemetery.  

Eunice, only child of Jerome and Caroline Fletcher was born September 24, 1878
in Kent county.  Her early girlhood was spent on the farm with her parents.  In
March 1906, she was united in marriage to Jay Bovee, who passed away March 22,
1910.  After his death, she lived in Lowell with her mother and April 29, 1911,
she was united in marriage to Herbert Chase, living at the present home during
her married life.  Being of a cheerful disposition she made many friends.  She
was a kind neighbor and a devoted wife.  During her last sickness with pneumonia
the medical aid and the tender care of a loving husband and friends was of no
avail.  She passed away May 9, 1928 at the age of 49 years, 7 months, 15 days. 
She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, cousins and many friends.  

Those from away who were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Herbert  Chase were
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fletcher, of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fletcher, Mr.
and Mrs. Westover and son, of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harker, Mrs. Kate
Fletcher of Lansing, Mrs. Mose Keller of Onondago, Mrs. and Mrs. Darius Stone,
Mrs. Will Diamond, Mrs. John Young, of Ionia, Mrs. Carl Wingeier of Shilo, Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Story, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Chase, Mr.
and Mrs. Matt Laux and son, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peterson, Mrs. Dell Rykert and
Peter Johnson of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schmitema of Zeeland, besides
a host of relatives and friends from Saranac, Clarksville and Lowell.
