Herbert Chase, 65, died December 30 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Bert 
Randall, in Lowell, after a long illness.  Mr. Chase was born in South Boston, 
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Chase, and spent most of his life in the same 
community, moving to Saranac when his health failed so that he was unable to 
continue farming.

He is survived by one brother, Wayne Chase, of Grand Rapids, and three 
sisters, Mrs. Randall of Lowell, Mrs. May Loucks and Mrs. Dora Schuitema, both 
of Grand Rapids.  He was a long time member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge at Lowell.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Roth 
funeral chapel and burial was made in South Boston cemetery.
