A. Chave, of Pasadena, California, which informed her of the death of Mr. Chave at their home in Pasadena, on Sunday, March 2, following an illness of but one day, although he had been ailing for some time. The cause of death was not given, but the letter stated that Mr. Chave had kept busy as usual until Saturday, March 1 and did not give up until then, with death coming the next day. Mr. Chave will be remembered by the older residents of this city as a former proprietor of the Variety Store. He had this located where the Fred Thompson Garage now is and operated the store for about 16 years selling out the stock and business about 18 years ago to Henry Patterson who later on moved it to its present location. Following the sale of the local store Mr. and Mrs. Chave left here and went to California where they have since resided.
