She is the mother of Chas. Cheney and Mrs. John Demaray of this village. Although Mrs. Cheney has not been able to be out for months she bore her affliction very patiently and was fully prepared to go, having made all preparations. Ann Alida Hanna was born in Rochester, N.Y., April 25th, 1848. She was married to Oliver Cheney February 22, 1868. The husband died August 26, 1910. They lived together 42 years, six months and four days. Mrs. Cheney died at her home Wednesday morning, March 28, aged 74 years, 10 months and 28 days, after several years of illness. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cheney, Charles who has cared for his mother for the past sixteen moths, Mrs. Mina Demaray of Lake Odessa, Allie Cheney of Carlton and Mrs. Dora Murdock, who died February 4, 1908. Besides the children she leaves nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Cheney came to Michigan shortly after their marriage and settled in Irving, from there to Carlton and then to Lake Odessa March 15th, 1900, after a brief residence at Riverside, Neb. Mrs. Cheney was greatly respected and loved by her neighbors and family. She was of a careful, thoughtful disposition and loved to read besides being an exceptionally neat person with her household. She attended the Methodist church as long as she was able to go to church. She has had the sympathy of everyone who knew her during the years of her affliction and will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held from the home on Fifth Ave. Friday afternoon at 1:30.
