Ionia Sentinel Standard 14 Dec 1963

Ralph M. Cheney, 88, former Ionia resident, died early Saturday at Moose Haven,
Fla.  He was associated in the feed and livery barn service in Ionia with his
father and later with his father and O.D. Graham in the harness and luggage
business.

Mr. Cheney was born in Palo, September 17, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel
O. Cheney, and was a member of Ionia Moose lodge 998 and attended Ionia First
Methodist church.

His wife, Gertrude, preceded him in death December 14, 1934.  Survivors include
four daughters, Mrs. Mary Haas of Detroit, Eleanor Cheney of Highland Park, Mrs.
Lucille Davies of Boca Raton, Fla., and Mrs. Irma Richards of Grand Rapids; four
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted at Myers funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with
the Rev. Harold Jayne of First Methodist church officiating.  Interment will be
at Highland Park cemetery.
