Cheney died at 10:30 Saturday evening at his residence, 167 E. Washington. He had been ill some three weeks with a bowel trouble, and complications involving the stomach followed, superinducing acute inflammation, and heart failure. Funeral will be held at the residence at 2:00 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Cheney was in his 60th year. As a business man—a member of the well known implement house of Hubbell & Cheney—he was widely respected. Quite in demeanor, and honest in the fullest degree; active in church work, and possessed of a genial disposition, his death will be mourned by a large circle of acquaintances. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elisha B. Cheney of Orleans, both yet living, and the former hale at the age of 80 yrs. He had spent pretty much all his life in Ionia County.
