Chick, 63 died at his farm home near Fenwick Saturday, October 7, of a heart attack. He was born October 10, 1886 in Germany. He came to America at an early age. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Clarence V. Ward V.F.W. He has been a resident of the Fenwick area for the past 3 1/2 years. He also lived in Lyons, Okemos, and Williamston. He married Mable Rasmussen in 1938 and she died in 1944. In 1945 he married Lois Yeomans who survives him. Besides the wife, he leaves a daughter, Rosemary Chick; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Forest Martin of Jackson, Misses Beverly and Carolyn Yeomans at home; two step-sons, Carl and David Yeomans at home; two sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Clear Lake U.B. church near Fenwick. The Rev. Elmer Town will officiate. Interment will be in Clear Lake cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, October 12, 1950 Funeral services for Otto P. Chick were conducted at Clear Lake U. B. Church near Fenwick Tuesday under the auspices of the Sheridan Post of the V.F.W. The bearers, all members of the post, were O. W. Bush, R. Christensen, H. Stebbins, J. Studley, W.W. Weirs and D. Lutes. C.A. Lewis and Bernard Greenhoe were the color guard and Fred Thayer and Glen Piper were color bearers. Making up the firing squad under the command of Derwood Peterman were Peterman, John Hopkins, Eddie Byers and Shorty Collins. Collins is commander of the Sheridan post. Frank Wirtz of the Ionia post was bugler and P.J. O’Connor, chaplain, had the graveside services. Carl M. Seabrook, commander of the Ionia V.F.W., was also present. The Rev. Elmer Town officiated at the funeral services with interment in Clear Lake cemetery.
