Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Sep 1973

Rev. Wayne A. Child, 62, of 1310 West Ellis avenue, Belding, died Tuesday at 
Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born May 6, 1911, at Lostant, 
Ill., and became an ordained minister in 1938 and was a member of the Smyrna 
Bible church.

Surviving are his wife, Edna; daughter, Carolyn Child of Grand Rapids; two 
sons, Larry of Geneva, Ill., and John with the navy; one sister and three 
brothers.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Smyrna Bible church with Rev. 
Darwin Hassert and Rev. Edward Larson officiating.  Interment will be at City, 
Ill.  A memorial has been established for Smyrna Bible church.  Visitation 
hours at Huffman funeral home in Belding will be until Thursday 9 p.m.  Bearers 
will be Frank Parker, Donald Mason, Jack Etheridge, Tom Chambers, William 
White, Arthur Clark, Paul Wright and James Sayers.
