The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, November 20, 1908

Sunday afternoon.  Mrs. Ellen Chipman, who has been a great sufferer from 
rheumatism for several years past, died at her home in this village.  Mrs. 
Chipman was well known here, having lived in Saranac and vicinity all her 
life.  She is survived by an aged mother, a son, Burton Wolverton and seven 
grandchildren.  The funeral services were held from the M.E. church Tuesday 
afternoon, Rev. Fairbank officiating.  Interment was in Saranac cemetery.
