DEAN ALAN CHIPMAN 1955-2016
Dean Alan Chipman, age 61 of Orleans, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack
on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016. Dean was born on Nov 6, 1955 in Carson City, the son of
Clarence and Barbara (Seitz) Chipman. He graduated from Ionia High School with the class of
1974 and later earned an associate degree from Montcalm Community  College in 1981. He
was married on May 29, 1976 in Shiloh to Cindy Gallagher.

Dean was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge and the K of C in Ionia. He enjoyed
camping, riding off-road in his Jeep and spending time with family. He was an exceptional
truck driver having driven for over 40 years. Dean had a good sense of humor, loved his
family, was a hard worker and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Dean is loved and survived by; his wife Cindy and their sons; Scott  A. Chipman of
Ionia and Adam C. Chipman of Greenville; two grandchildren; Daniel and Kerstin Chipman of 
Greenville; his parents Clarence and Barbara Chipman of Orleans; his in-laws Jerry
and Jane Gallagher of Belding; a sister and brother-in-law Diann (Larry) Bertsch of
Rockford and many friends. Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 19, 2016 at Johnson-Feuerstein Home, 
Belding with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Orleans township Cemetery. Memorials may
be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Messages of condolence may also
