The deceased, Janet MacDermid, was born in Scotland, Oct. 20th, 1826. When a child she came to Canada with her parents, residing in Tilsonburg. In 1844, she married Peter Chisholm. Six children blessed this union, three of whom survive her: Mrs. Jas. Fraser, Lyons; Mrs. A. Buckborough, Hamilton, Ohio, Mrs. Robt. Smith, Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Chisholm was well known in Lyons as “Grandma” to the younger people and as Aunty to the older. She was a loving wife and a most devoted mother. Hers was a life of loving kindness, doing good to all and cheerfully devoting her life to her children; and her death is most sincerely regretted. Although she suffered for the past year, it was with great patience, and the peaceful death spoke only the beautiful life she lived. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from her daughter’s home in Lyons. Rev. H. E. Wylie officiated. Interment in Lyons cemetery.
