He was born in Canada May 14, 1849 and came to Michigan with his parents when about 6 years of age and settled at Flushing, Genesee county. He came to Ionia county in 1867 and settled in Otisco and was married to Miss Lucy Ann Hanks of that place, September 13, 1871. They celebrated their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries before her death which occurred in 1934. Since that time he has resided with Russell Curtis of Ionia. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Maggie Meginley of Detroit and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Fales funeral home Tuesday, September 8, 1936. Interment was in River Ridge cemetery.
