October 21, 1976 Final Rites for Gertrude Chorley Mrs. Gertrude (Neeb) Chorley, age 74 of Quarterline Road, Portland passed away Wednesday evening, October 13 at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital where she was hospitalized since October 1, following an extended illness. She was born at Clarksville November 6, 1901 the daughter of John and Edith (Sparks) Neeb and had attended the Clarksville schools. She married Frank Chorley on December 6, 1917 at Ionia and resided on their farm on Clarksville Rd, near Lake Odessa until moving to Lake Odessa. Mr. Chorley passed away in 1961 and she had lived most of her life in the local area until moving to Portland. Surviving are three sons, Gordon of Portland, Gaylord of Lansing and Gerald of Lake Odessa; a daughter, Mrs.Helen Vide of Detroit, 16 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs.Ethel Birman of Lake Odessa, Mrs.Donald (Frances) Miller of Baldwin and Mrs.Lucinda Glanville of Staffa, Ont.; and a brother, Wilbur Neeb of Irons. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa. Rev. Thomas Voyles officiating with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
