FREDERIC CHORLEY WAS HELD FRIDAY ------------------ After a residence of nearly 46 years in Odessa township, Susie E. Chorley passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the age of 71 years. She had been in fair health until the time of her death but was taken with a heart attack Wednesday morning while about her household duties and death came before aid could be summoned. Mrs. Chorley was a quiet, home loving woman, a devoted mother and a kind neighbor always ready to lend a helping hand. She was loved and respected in the neighborhood where she had lived so many years and her death was a shock to her many friends. The funeral was held Friday from the home of her son Frank Chorley in Odessa, the Rev. Friese, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist church at Clarksville, preaching the sermon. Burial was made in Lakeside cemetery. OBITUARY Susie E. Thompson, daughter of Matthew and Harriet Thompson, was born March 28, 1867, in Keene township, Ionia county, and departed this life January 11, 1939, at the age of 71 years, nine months and 23 days. On February 5, 1883, she was united in marriage with Frederic Chorley, who departed this life May 4, 1931. To this union were born five children, three girls and two boys, namely: Harriet E., who departed this life December 27, 1918, Sarah dying in infancy, Sadie E., who departed this life August 23, 1935, William J. of Saranac, and Frank E. of Odessa, where she has made her home since the death of her husband. She was a faithful and loving wife and a devoted mother, a kind and helpful neighbor, whose life was a living testimony. She leaves to mourn their loss, the two sons, ten grandsons, three granddaughters, and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Will Thompson of Lowell, and a sister Charlotte Johnson of Grand Rapids, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
