Greenville Daily News, 27 Aug 1990

Mary Christensen, 97, formerly of Ionia, Trufant and Greenville, died Saturday,
Aug. 25, 1990, at Westgate Manor, St. Louis.  She was born May 3, 1893, in
Chicago, the daughter of Christian and Lena Hansen Jensen.  Retired from Ionia
Manufacturing, she was a member of Settlement Lutheran Church at Gowen, the
Danish Sisterhood Society and a life member of Ionia Women of the Moose.

Her husband, Nels Christensen, whom she married March 15, 1910, preceded her in
death Nov. 5, 1978.  She is survived by a daughter, Emma Peacock, Allegan; a son
and his wife Hans and Carmen Christensen, Greenville; a sister, Emma Strong,
Kalamazoo; a brother, Hans Jensen, Cedar Springs; seven grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown-Teman Funeral Home,
Greenville, by the Rev. Rebecaa Ebb-Speese.  Burial is in Trufant Cemetery. 
Visitation at the funeral home is tonight from 7 to 8:30.  Memorial
contributions are suggested to Settlement Lutheran Church.
