Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Apr 1992

Saranac – Ila Marie Christensen, 80, of 630 Johnson Street, Ionia, died Sunday
at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Kent County Oct. 11, 1911, she was
the daughter of Chris and Ella Larsen Christensen.  She served as a foster
grandparent for 12 years and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of
Ionia.  She also owned and operated the Brite End Restaurant in Ionia for
several years.  

Surviving are three sons, Richard Christiansen of Saranac, Donald Christiansen,
of Ionia, and Thomas Christiansen of Palo; one daughter, Linda Cock; 12
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Christiansen of
Trufant.

Funeral services will be Thursday at noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with
the Rev. Theodore Voll officiating.  Burial will be in Trufant Cemetery.  The
family will be at Lake Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.  A memorial has been established for St.
John’s Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home.
