Carl Christensen, 95, formerly of Montgomery and Ionia, passed away Tuesday,
April 30, 2002 at his home in Hillsdale.  He was born on Oct. 19, 1906 in
Greenville, to Frederik and Mina (Ericksen) Christensen.  For 25 years, Carl was
employed as the manager of the A & P Store, he was also manager of the first
Meijers Supermarket, and he retired from A.O. Smith Co.  Carl was a life member
of the Ionia Masonic Lodge.

On Aug. 20, 1933 he married Leah (Winchell) and she survives.  Other survivors
include one daughter, Carolyn (Dr. F.C.) Shiery of Camden; one son, Dr. J.F.
(Ann) Christensen of Buchanan; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
 Preceding Mr. Christensen in death were two sisters and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  There will be no visitation. 
Memorials are requested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.  Arrangements by George
White Funeral Home, Reading.
