Lyons Herald, 8 May 1919

James Chubb passed away Friday, May 2nd, 1919, at his farm home two miles east 
of Lyons, aged 77 years, 11 months and 25 days.  He had been in poor health 
from kidney trouble for some time, and died after an illness of about a week 
with lagrippe.

Deceased was born May 7, 1841, on a farm in East Plains, and spent his entire 
life in this county.  In 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Agnes Trefry, 
who with one grandson, Ned Pfeiffer, are left to mourn their loss.

Brief funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon, conducted by 
Rev. Geo. Brown of the Lyons M.E. church.  Interment was in the family lot in 
Lyons cemetery.
