Virginia A. Church, 36, of Jackson, died Sunday evening in Grand Rapids
following a short illness.

She was born in Nunica July 10, 1941, the daughter of Anthony and Lucia Newsom
Schipper.  She attended schools in Nunica, Flint and Grand Rapids and was
employed as a diet supervisor in Grand Rapids Osteopathic hospital before
marrying Vearl S. Church February 21, 1969 at Eastminster Presbyterian church in
Grand Rapids.  They made their home in Grand Rapids moving to Ionia in 1970 and
then to Jackson in 1973.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Grand Rapids.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jim, Richard and Andrew at home; her
father, Anthony Schipper of Flint; her mother, Mrs. Walt (Lucia) Miller of
Fontana, California; two sisters Betty Harris of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Don
(Rita) Brisbin of Clio.

Funeral services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home with Rev.
Carl Hausermann of First United Methodist church officiating.  Burial is in
Easton cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral
home Monday and Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m.
