Elmer F. Cilley passed away Friday morning, April 30, at his home in Belding, at
the age of 86.  Mr. Cilley, a native of South Boston township, Ionia County, was
born September 4, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cilley.  The family moved
to Belding five years ago from their farm in Keene.  Mr. Cilley served two terms
as sheriff of Ionia County and later six terms as county drain commissioner.  He
was a member of Ionia Masonic Lodge and the Knights Templar Commandery, No. 11.
 Surviving are his wife, Margaret; a son, H. B. Blaine Cilley, of Muskegon, a
sister, Mrs. Abbey Newton, of Caledonia; one grandchild and one
great-grandchild.  Services were held Monday in Belding with interment in South
Boston cemetery.  The Knights Templar conducted the services at the grave.
