Clark, 83, of Rockford, formerly of Belding, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Spectrum Health-East Campus. Mr. Clark was born in Ionia County Oct. 4, 1917, the son of J. Frank and Ada (nee Mendonsa) Clark. He graduated from Belding High School and married the former Maxine Regan Dec. 7, 1938, in Ionia. In 1982, he retired from Extruded Metals in Belding as a lathe operator- machinist and looked forward to continuing his “hobby farming,” which he really enjoyed. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn (Ken) Morris of Comstock Park; his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Helen Clark, of Grand Rapids; his grandchildren, Mindy Morris and her fiancé Travis Galloway, Katie Morris, Justin Morris, Dawn and Tim Schweitzer, all of Comstock Park, Kurt and Anne Clark of E. Grand Rapids; Kent and Linda Clark of Haslett, and Kevin Clark of Belmont; his great- grandsons, Nick and Sam Schweitzer and the much anticipated arrival of another great-grandchild; his brother, Paul (Wilma) Clark of Ionia; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Ann Regan of Belding; his “special adopted family” Michael and Dixie Newell and family of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Clark on Aug. 7, 1993, and his son, Wendell Clark on Sept. 25, 1989. A service of praise and thanksgiving to God for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ for Mr. Clark will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home with Pastor James Ankererg officiating. Interment in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding, at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Building Fund at Rockford Baptist Church or Meals on Wheels.
