Jo Lena was born in Stanton on January 6, 1919 to Orman and Lena Willmore Ross. She was raised in the Vickeryville area and graduated from Sheridan High School class of 1935. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Ionia, and also attended the United Methodist Church. On August 29, 1936 Jo Lena married Erwin Clark, Erwin passed away in 1983. She was employed more than 42 years as a Stanley Home Products Saleswoman. During WWII Jo Lena volunteered by rolling bandages for the Red Cross. She also would take in and care for children in need. Besides working as a saleswoman Jo Lena and Erwin owned and operated their farm in Ronald Township, Ionia County from 1937 to 1981. Her many hobbies included fishing, spending time outdoors and snowmobiling. Jo Lena is survived by one daughter and son in law, Darlene and Anthony Glinski of Barryton, two sons and one daughter in law, Dale Clark of Milford, Russell and Karen Clark of Traverse City, one foster daughter and her husband, Marlene and Louis Botma Jr., of Grand Rapids, grandchildren, Dale and Kim Udell, Clark and Lisa Udell, all of Ada, R. Jason and Jodi Clark, and Jeremy Clark of Grand Rapids, Karyann Clark of east Lansing, 1st Sergeant Louis and Maria Botma III of Fr McCoy, Wis., Linda and Lloyd Bourassa of Rockford, Mary and Keith Dorner, Bruce and Ann Glinski, Tim and Lisette Glinski, all of Green Bay Wis., sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, one sister and brother in law, Rosemary and Bernard Long and one brother and sister in law, V. Wayne and Deloris Ross all of Sheridan. Jo Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Erwin and one brother Orman Ross Jr. Funeral services for Jo Lena are Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Vickeryville, United Methodist Church in Vickeryville, with Pastor Brian Bunch officiating. Visitation is Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Vickeryville United Methodist Church, Heartland Hospice of Grand Rapids, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Burial will be in the Evergreen Township Cemetery in Sheridan. The Brigham Funeral Chapel in Six Lakes, is serving the family.
