Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Mr. Paul W. Clark, 74, of Ionia passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born the son of H. Frank and Ada (Mendonsa) Clark of March 15, 1928 in 
Belding.  He married the former Wilma Sharp on Sept. 11, 1948

Paul was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia.  He worked for 
Extruded Metals in Belding for 37 years retiring as a foreman, where he became 
the president of the U.A.W. Local #4 at the age 26.

After Paul retired he traveled with his son, Doug’s amusement business.  He 
loved farming, gardening, was a little league coach for a number of years and 
he loved wintering in Florida for 17 years.  Paul loved his dogs Buddy and 
Teddy.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Wilma; two sons, Doug (Bev) Clark and Dave 
(Pat) Clark both of Ionia; one daughter, Gail (Chuck) Kanouse of Ionia; seven 
grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Sharp of 
Ionia; and his special friend, Jinnifer Stephen of Belding.  He was preceded in 
death by his parents; and one brother, Franklin Clark.

The Mass of Christian Burial and the Committal Service will be offered at 11 
a.m., Friday at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia with Fr. Melvin Fox 
as presider.  The organist will be Mary Cusack.  Interment will be in the 
spring at Mount Olivet Cemetery.  Visitation is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 
8:30 p.m. Thursday with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m., Thursday at the Rich Street 
Chapel of Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.  Memorial contributions can be made to SS. 
Peter & Paul Church Memorial Fund or the Ionia County Humane Society in care of 
Cook Funeral Home.
