Clark passed away on Friday afternoon at 4:30. He leaves beside his widow, two brothers, Eugene of Detroit, and Charles of Grand Rapids; also three step-daughters, Mrs. B.A. McCabe of Battle Creek, Mrs. Calvin Filer of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Earle H. Alspaugh of Ionia. Albert J. Clark was born at Portland, Michigan, January 23, 1846, making him a little over 73 years old when he answered the last roll call. He was a Civil war veteran, and at the time of his death was Senior Vice Commander of the Wm. H. Borden post, which order will have charge of the funeral services, to be held from the residence, 164 Adams St., on Monday, March 10, at 2:00 p.m. The funeral for Albert J. Clark, who died Friday afternoon at 4:30, will be held at the residence at 164 Adams street on Monday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. R.J. Slee will officiate and the burial will be in the Clark vault in Highland Park cemetery. The G.A.R., of which Mr. Clark was a member, will take part in the services. The ladies of the W.R. C. are requested to meet at the residence of A.J. Clark, 164 Adams street, Monday at 2:00 p.m. to attend the funeral in a body. Attention, G.A.R. The comrades of Wm. H. Borden Post, No. 211, G.A.R., will assemble at post room on Monday, at 1:00 o’clock p.m., to attend the funeral of our late Comrade A.J. Clark. By order, Myron Morse, Commander. Ionia Daily Standard, 11 Mar 1919 The funeral for A.J. Clark was held at the home on Adams street on Monday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. Slee conducted the service, and the interment was in the Clark vault in Highland Park cemetery. The honorary pallbearers were comrades of the G.A.R., C.C. Eyster, J.C. Taylor, L. Tingley, William Woods, William Kidd and Ed. Bensinger. The active bearers were Fred Belcher, Harry Myers, Dell Myers, W.L. Kenter, Harry Lombard and George Reed.
