She was born November 19, 1934 in Roger City, Michigan, the only child of James and Pearl (Market) Selke. She married her husband Harold on August 25, 1951. Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, horse shows, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with family. Shirley was diagnosed with MS and was the founder of “MS National Walk” in 1988 which she was extremely proud of. She was an avid 4H supporter and enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Susan (Ron) Cooper and Debra Clark of Orleans; son, Joseph Clark of West Palm Beach, FL; 8 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold (Hap) Clark; daughter, K Catherine Carmey; parents, James and Pearl Selke; grandson, Joey Clark; great-granddaughter, Erica Nummer and great- grandson, Joseph Patrick Clark. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Boufford officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to the Ionia County Commission on Aging. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
