O. Clark. Mrs. E. O. Clark, one of the pioneers of Ionia county, died at Lansing last night, after an illness of several months. She was a daughter of “Deacon” Wm. Babcock, and a sister of Mrs. E.M. Harter of this city, who was with her at time of death. Her husband was formerly in business here, and died many years ago. For several years decedent has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. L.E. Rowley of Lansing. A son also survives, Edward, who is traveling for a Detroit house. Mrs. Clark was one of those “motherly” women, whose kindness of heart, readiness of service, sweet spirit, and general intelligence, made her a great favorite with a wide circle of friends, and her departure will bring a mournful feeling to many hearts in this city and vicinity. Funeral services will be held at Lansing. The remains will be brought here, arriving by noon train Monday, for interment in Balcom cemetery, beside those of husband.
