Helen Clark of Portland, age 74, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011. Mrs. 
Clark was born on October 4, 1936 in Westphalia, Michigan, the daughter of 
Lawrence and Therese (Pohl) Hengesbach.

Helen enjoyed gardening, mountains, traveling the U.S. and to their cottage in 
Tennessee. She made the best homemade bread and was a wonderful cook. Helen was 
kind, generous, thoughtful and very loving towards others.

She was  preceded in death by her parents; children, Brenda Clark and Steven 
Clark; grandson, Lee Martin; brothers, Stanley Hengesbach, and Reynold 
Hengesbach; sister-in-law, Joanne Hengesbach. Surviving are her husband, Bill; 
children, Cathy Clark, Sharon (Jim) Hall, Laurie (Ken) Martin, Tom Clark and 
Mark (Julia) Clark; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Linus 
(Pat) Hengesbach and Albert (Wilma) Hengesbach; sister, Alice Hengesbach; 
sister-in-law, Rose Hengesbach; and her special friend, Marie Schafer.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 
11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King presiding. Rite 
of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 
at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland, on Wednesday and Thursday from 
2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with rosaries being prayed both days at 3:00 
and 7:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the
