O. Clark, one of the pioneers of Ionia County, died at Lansing Friday night, after an illness of several months. She was a daughter of “Deacon” Wm. Babcock, and a sister of Mrs. F. M. Barter of this city, who was with her at time of death. Her husband was formerly in business here, and died many years ago. For several years decedent has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Rowley of Lansing. A son also survives, Edward who is traveling for a Detroit house. Mrs. Clark was one of those motherly women, whose kindness of heart, readiness of service, sweet spirit, and general intelligence, made her a great favorite with a wide circle of friends, and her departure will bring a mournful feeling to many hearts in this city and vicinity. Funeral services were held at Lansing. The remains were brought here, arriving by noon train Monday, for interment in Balcom cemetery, beside those of husband. _________ Remains of Mrs. E. O. Clark arrived from Lansing about 1:30 pm Monday accompanied by family, friends and were taken at once to Balcom cemetery. Rev. W. H. MacPherson pronounced prayer at the grave. Miss Hattie Babcock of Grand Haven was a member of the mourning party.
