Clark was born Sept. 21, 1853 at Italy, N. Y., and died Feb. 22, 1912 at his home in this village. About two months ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered. He was married to Ellerine Graham, three children were born, Arza E. Clark of Lyons, Mrs. Ocia Hogan of this place and Vale who died in infancy. In 1882 they moved to Hubbardston and have resided here continuously since. Jan. 7, 1884, Mr. Clark was initiated into Tuscan lodge, No. 178, F. & A.M. and has served that lodge as master three years and secretary 15 years. He also received the following degrees in higher masonry: Markmaster in 1894, most and most excellent master, royal arch and member of Ionia council, No. 18, in 1895, royal, select and super excellent master in 1896. The funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 25, at his late home under the auspices of the F. & A.M., the Rev. Chas. Baughman of Bath officiating. The ritual services at the grave were conducted by F. E. Gaylord of Palo. Messrs. Daniel Kiddar, A. C. Little and Frank Baker of Palo were also present. Judson Clark and wife of Grand Rapids, a brother of the deceased, were here and two other brothers in New York who were unable to attend survive him.
