Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding will officiate, and interment will be at Orleans cemetery. The grave services will be under the auspices of the Masonic lodge. He was born in Marcellus, New York, on January 12, 1873, the son of Fayette and Priscilla Clark, and he came with his parents to Orleans township when he was still a young boy. He was graduated from the Ionia high school and in later years lived in North Dakota and Texas. He returned to Ionia County about 10 years ago, and had since made his home at the farm southeast of Belding. He was a member of the DeWitt Clinton consistory of the Eastern Star in Grand Rapids, the Swindin Shrine of Grand Rapids and a member of the shrine band of Grand Rapids. He played at many national and international shrine conventions in the United States. He played the clarinet, although for a while he became interested in the harp. He later discontinued his study of the harp, and returned to the clarinet while he placed in the shrine band. He was also a member of the Good Fellowship club of Belding and the East Otisco Farmers club. Surviving are the wife, Lela; a daughter, Mrs. Elvert Russell of Detroit, and one sister, Mrs. Nora Palmer of Orleans. Subsequent Publication: Friday, June 27, 1941 The funeral for I. Gaylord Clark was held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Fales’ funeral home in Belding. Mr. Clark had been ailing for some time, but was thought to be better until about two weeks ago when a change came and he failed rapidly until his death Sunday. Among those from away to attend were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Keiser, G. Keiser, Marshall; Dr. and Mrs. H. H. Stryker, Kalamazoo; Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Doty, Mrs. Esther Doty of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. John Stahlin, Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Morris K. Davis, Stanton. Funeral services were under the auspices of the Mason order. Bearers were Maurice K. Davis, Stanton; Cecil Haight, and Glenn Lambertson, Belding; Clark and Robert Palmer and Jerry Spaulding of Orleans. Rev. H. S. Ellis officiated. Interment was in Orleans cemetery.
