The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Tuesday, December 2, 1941
Funeral services for Mrs. Kate E. Clark, who died at her home Monday at about 
6 p.m. following a stroke Friday, will be held from the Morris funeral home 
Thursday at 2 p.m.  Rev. Wingeier will officiate and interment will be at 
Saranac cemetery.

Kate E. Clark was born January 12, 1863 in Derum Center, Ontario and was 
married to Verne Clark in 1898.  They moved to the old Clark homestead about 
one mile northwest of Saranac in Keene township about 43 years ago.  She was a 
member of the Royal Neighbors’ club, the Order of the Eastern Star and a 
member of the Congregational church of Saranac.  Surviving are the husband, 
Verne, and two sisters.
