The Clarks lived in Lake Odessa many years where the father, Frank Clark, was postmaster a number of terms and the children of the family were students of the high school here. Mrs. Clarke was a Tupper before marriage and this family was one of the original families of this village. The funeral was held at Hastings but burial was at Lake Side cemetery here. Anne Tupper was born in Odessa township, Ionia County, Michigan, April 4, 1854 and passed away November 20th, 1927, aged 73 years, 7 months and 16 days. She was the daughter of Benjamin R. and Harriette Tupper. She was married April 13, 1873 to Frank W. Clark. To this union four daughters were born and are all living and were at her bedside during her last sickness and passing, Florence Lepard, Zella Olmstead, Josie Koch and Greta Perkins. She leaves besides the four daughters, her husband, four son-in-laws, nineteen grand children, one great grand child, two brothers, one sister, and a host of near and dear friends to mourn the loss of a faithful, true and devoted wife and mother. Her home was always a welcome place for her children and friends. She was a devout Christian woman who lived her religion every day and the last few years of her life were devoted to reading her Bible and laboring for her Lord and Master whom she loved dearly. Her four daughters and her father’s whole family were born and raised on the old farm now forming the north part of the village of Lake Odessa, Michigan. Card of Thanks To all the neighbors, friends and loved ones from Lake Odessa, Hastings, Clare, Grand Ledge, Grand Rapids and other parts of the state, who so kindly assisted us during the sickness, passing and burial of our wife, mother and sister, by word, deed and action for the beautiful flowers, and the Sacred Scriptural readings by Mrs. Campbell, the beautiful words of comfort and cheer from the prayer of Marquis L. Foght, her long-time schoolmate and friend, and the beautiful selections of music rendered by one whose name we do not know, we express our thanks, and may the good Lord whom she has learned to love, bless you all.
