Clark, aged 76 years, one of Danby township’s well known and highly esteemed pioneer residents, passed aawy at the family home across the road from the Grange hall, Friday afternoon at four o’clock, following an illness incident to old age. Mrs. Clark, whose maiden name was Jane Laughlin, was born in Bengal township, Clinton county, in 1846. In 1864 she was united in marriage to Mr. Clark, shortly afterward locating in Danby where they engaged in farming. For a number of years the aged couple have conducted a grocery store located a few rods west of their home. She was the mother of three children, all of whom have passed away, leaving the husband as the only surviving member of the family. The funeral was held from the residence, Monday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Blewfield. Interment was made in the Danby cemetery.
