Clark were held Monday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Glenn Perkins, in Hastings, and burial was at Lakeside cemetery in Lake Odessa beside his wife. Mr. Clark was born July 12, 1851 in Ohio and came to Michigan at the age of two years. His parents settled on the land now known as the Ora Bachelder farm and built the present house. In 1873 Mr. Clark married Ann Tupper the daughter of another pioneer resident. (The one for whom our Tupper lake and street were named.) Four daughters were born to this union; Florence—Mrs. Shirley Lepard died last March; Mrs. Zella Olmstead of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Josephine Koch of Clark, and Mrs. Glenn Perkins of Hastings. Mr. Clark left Lake Odessa in 1908, going to make his home with his daughter Mrs. Perkins, where he died Saturday leaving the three daughters, 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren besides a sister Mrs. C. D. Roberts of Barryton and a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Seth and George, were prominent in the early history of this town and community. Mr. Clark was affiliated with Frank Nims in the elevator here, was president of the village, and served as postmaster for ten years beginning in McKinley’s administration.
