Clark was born in the state of New York on August 15, 1827. When three years old he moved with his parents to Ohio and in 1849 with his parents, he moved to Orleans, Ionia county, Michigan, where he resided until 1906, in which year he moved to the state of Washington. He died at Spokane, Washington August 28, 1914, aged 87 years and 14 days, the last of a family of 14 children. In 1857 he was married to Miss Sarah Johnson to which union were born eight children five of whom survive: Bertram A. of Spokane, Washington; Mrs. Jennie D. McLeod, of San Jose, Calif.; Fred N. of San Bernardino, Calif., Leonard W. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Edith Greer of Los Angeles, Calif., who with several grandchildren and other relatives and friends, mourn their loss.
