The Clark families were prominent in the early history of this village. Especially the two families of Frank and Seth Clark, and many people here recall the friendship of the two families. The latter part of last week the news came that the body of Seth Clark would arrive here for burial at Lakeside, Sunday afternoon, with a short service at the cemetery. Of course the condition of the roads made it impossible for the cortege to get through and the burial was postponed until Monday. The following is a short mention of his death and family: Seth E. Clark, of Monitor township, died Thursday night at 11:30 o’clock at his residence after a lingering illness. He was born at Lake Odessa, October 7, 1856, going to Saginaw in 1917 and removing to Monitor township in 1926. He was a farmer. Surviving are his widow, Alice; two sons, Edison, of Detroit, and Andrew, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Weyman Keith, of Grand Rapids; a brother, Frank Clark, of Hastings, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. C. D. Roberts, of Winnipeg, Can., and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home. The Rev. V. G. McDonald Jones of Auburn officiated.
