LUCY E.CLASSIC

WOODLAND-Lucy E.Classic, 86, of 115 W.Broadway, Woodland, died Saturday, Oct. 
27, 1990 at the Tendercare Nursing Home, Hastings.

She was born Nov.. 25, 1903 in Sebewa Township, the daughter of Robert and Rhoda 
Yager Austin. She graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1921 and from County 
Normal in 1923. She taught at the Nye School for 2 years.

She married Herald Classic on Dec. 6, 1925. he preceded her in death Dec.21, 
1974.

She lived in Lake Odessa area until moving to Woodland in 1934. They owned and 
operated the Classic Drug Store since 1932.

She was a life member of the Eastern Star, a member of the Lakewood United 
Methodist Church since 1921, and a member of the Woodland Women's Study Club.

Surviving are three daughters, Norma Jean Clum of Howell, Betty Curtis of 
Woodland, and Shirley Kilmer of Woodland one son, Marvin Classic of Woodland, 
eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Florence Begerow 
of Woodland.

Preceding her in death were three brothers; Robert, Fredrick and Cyril; one 
sister, Phoebe Nicholson, and one grandson, Curtis White.

Funeral services will be Monday, Oct.29 at 3 p.m. at the Lakewood United 
Methodist Church with Rev. Ward Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside 
Cemetery,Lake Odessa.

Memorials have been established for the Herald Classic Memorial Park and the 
Lakewood United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
