Excerpts from Lansing Online Obituary
DARWIN E. CLAY of Ionia.
Died June 3, 1970-age 73.
Graduated Charlotte High School & bachelor of Arts degree from Easter Mich. 
University. A bachelor of science degree from Michigan State university & 
Masters's of Art degree from University of Michigan.
Served in World war I Medical Corp.
Served 14 years as Superintendent of schools in Leslie & 2 years at 
Vermontville.
Retired after 20 years as as Director of Education at Michigan Reformatory. 
A former Secretary-Treasurer of the American Prison Association.
Was post commander of Ionia American Legion post.
Surviving are his wife, Ethelyn, one daughter, Mrs John N. Marquis of Palo 
Alto, Calif., one sister, Mrs Harold Krieger of Lansing, and three 
grandchildren.
Funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. by Kauffman Funeral Home at Sunset 
Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
