Kenneth J. Clayton, 61, of Ionia passed away Tues., June 18, 2002.  He was born 
June 15, 1941 in Grand Rapids, raised in Belding, the son of Claude L. and 
Hazel A. (Meyers) Clayton.

He is survived by his children, Dale Edward Clayton of Orleans, Kevin Scott 
(Tanya) Clayton of Ionia, Diana Marie (George Wilson) Clayton of Orleans; and 
their mother, Millie Yoder of Saranac; Patricia Ann (Travis) Braman of Ionia, 
Joel Scott Clayton of Ionia; Shannon Marie (Josh) Middlemiss of Grand Rapids; 
19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie (Doc) Horsfall of 
Newaygo, Susan (Terry) Smith, Michelle (Gary) Scott and Lynn (Dion) Sloan all 
of Sand Lake; brothers Jim (Judy) Clayton of Ionia and Jerry (Bonnie) Clayton 
of Stanton; and by his special fishing friend, Glenn Conley.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Clayton Meyers; father, Claude 
Clayton; son, Kenneth Howard Clayton; granddaughter, Diana Walker; sisters, 
Helen and Shirley Ann Clayton; Jane Perez; and his wife, Margie Clayton Betz, 
mother of Patricia, Joel and Shannon.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday at the Huffman Funeral Home, 
Belding, with Rev. Robert “Butch” Roush officiating.  Visitation was on 
Friday.  Memorial contributions can be made to Country Friendship Chapel in 
Saranac, with envelopes available at the Huffman Funeral Home.  Burial will be 
in River Ridge Cemetery.
