The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, December 4, 2014


Joel Scott Clayton, age 38, of Lake Odessa formerly of Ionia passed away on 
Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Hope Network Pearls Street Home in Lake Odessa.  
Joel was born in Ionia on June 27, 1976 to Kenneth James and Margie Jean (Betz) 
Clayton.  Joel battled Cerebral Palsy since birth, but always had a great 
disposition, bringing much laughter into the lives he touched.  He will be 
greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Survivors include; Patti (Travis) Braman, Shannon (Josh) Middlemiss, Dale 
Clayton, Kevin (Tonya) Clayton, Paula Chick, Diana Wilson, Lisa Rose and many 
nieces and nephews.  Joel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother 
Kenneth Howard Clayton. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Hope Network 
Pearl Street for giving Joel a home and taking such excellent care of him, 
along with Faith Hospice.  A celebration of Joel's life is being planned for 1 
p.m. December 9, 2014 at Trillium Woods 8214 Pfeiffer Farm Dr. Byron Center, MI.
