Kevin Scott Clayton II, age 25, of Ionia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, 
July 12.  He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on March17, 1989, the son of 
Kevin Scott Clayton and Elouise Mae Worthington-Clayton.  He attended Ionia 
Area Schools, and after completing his education, became employed in 
manufacturing.  Kevin loved the great outdoors, hunting, and was an avid skate 
boarder.
 
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Kevin and Tonya Clayton of 
Ionia and Elouise Clayton of Grand Rapids; his daughter, Aubree Lynn Clayton; 
grandparents, Mildred Yoder of Rockford, Mary Worthington of Lake George, Ellie 
and Paul Bairefoot of Ionia and Thomas Shattuck of Ionia; siblings, Raven Scott 
Perez of Holland, Joshua Scott Johnson of Grand Rapids and Hadlie Morgan 
Clayton of Ionia; 3 nieces and many cousins and friends.  He was preceded in 
death by grandparents, Kenneth Clayton and David Worthington, and an uncle, 
Kenneth Clayton, Jr. 
 
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at 
Verdun Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 303 S. Bridge Street, 
Belding, with Reverend Robert “Butch” Roush, officiating.  The family will 
greet visitors at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon.  Interment will follow 
at River Ridge Cemetery.  

The family recommends memorial contributions in Kevin’s memory be made to the 
wishes of the family.  Envelopes will be available at the service or by 
contacting Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St., Belding, who is 
caring for the arrangements.
