Lela A. Clayton, 87, of Belding passed away Monday April 21, 2003 at Metron of 
Belding Nursing Home.  She was born March 8, 1916 the daughter of Otis and 
Grace Fawver Rentsman.

Lela attended Shiloh Community Church.  She was married February 21, 1934 in 
Cedar Springs to Elvin W. Clayton and he preceded her in death on August 4, 
1978.  She was also preceded by her parents, her sister, Chestina and two 
brothers, Chester and Scott.

Lela is survived by her children, Jack and Diane Clayton of Palo, Dick Clayton 
and Gary and Eileen Clayton all of Belding.  She is also survived by 11 
grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, her brother and sisters, Emma Reed of 
Greenville, Arden and Frances Rentsman of Cedar Springs and Grace Kellogg of 
Florida.

Funeral services for Lela will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church 
officiating.  Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.  
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be 
made to Ionia County Commission on Aging.
