Former resident Dies at Elk Rapids

Mrs.Dora Clemens, 82, former local resident, passed away Tuesday Sept. 17 at Elk 
Rapids.

She was the widow of Otto Clemens and had lived in Elk Rapids area about 35 
years. Mrs Clemens the former Dora Mutchler was born in Odessa  Township and had 
spent her early life in the local area  until moving to Elk Rapids. Mr.Clemens 
during their residence here, was employed as a salesman for a fertilizer firm. 
After moving to Elk Rapids they built and operated Clem's Cabin Camp and later 
built cottages at Birtch lake in connection with a restaurant, until his death 
about sixteen years ago.

Surviving are two sisters Mrs.Lottie Kupenberg of Grand Rapids and Mrs Inez 
Estep of Traverse City.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at 1:30 at Pickens Funeral Chapel with 
burial in Lakeside cemetery.
